I made a nice chunk today, took my family out for dinner and then, after that, met friends for drinks.

I came home slightly buzzed with my new Pitchfork 500 in my hands... one click purchasing could be a very expensive habit.

Volume today is already tracking very low and it's only 10:15. We have no major economic news all week and the indexes, unfortunately, could be setting up for some low volume consolidation.

This is probably good for you swing traders, but bad for active daytraders.

I'm just guessing here. Anyway, I'm gonna listen to some music and take it easy with the trade until I see some intriguing reason to enter the market. Enjoy.

How nice that they've named a hurricane after a good song.



Anyway, I pay attention to hurricanes for a few reasons.

First of all, I'm a homeowner, and uncomfortably close to some water.

Second, I'm a trader, and when the next Cat 5 ruins the Gulf Of Mexico, I want to be all over it, mostly so I can laugh at Cajun.

Finally, I'm a surfer, and so I track Atlantic storms to see if they'll produce groundswell.

Anyway, for all these reasons, I'm including a seasonal link to The Storm Track.

Hopefully, they all stay way out in the Atlantic... close enough to produce some surf, but far enough away so that they don't ruin my house.

Bertha is out there brewing as we speak. While it won't threaten the oil rigs (or Cajun's trailer), it should produce some waves!

Time To Get Greedy

I think I'm finally putting fear to rest.

After only 4 losing days last month and a good start to this month, I'm seeing real signs of confidence come back into my trading.

Think of Dinosaur Trader as an airplane. I make the same flights whether or not my plane has 2 passengers, or 200 passengers. The way I build profits again, is by adding passengers.

I'm flying there, might as well fill the plane, right?

Anyway, this song came on today and seemed somewhat relevant to my situation. Despite the odd title, it seems to be about someone who has come through some ordeal, and is looking back on it from the other side. So perhaps it's not relevant just yet, but maybe soon, it will be.

Ruby Suns, "Oh, Mohave"

I just came back from one of my best surf sessions ever.

I wish I had more time to get into it, but I want to be able to describe the feeling you get when you're on a wave and everything lines up perfectly.

The only thing I can say is that you just feel like you have more time. Not more time as in, you thought it was 9:30, but it's really only 9:27. More time as in seconds take longer to tick... they stretch out. You're just stuck, nailed to the moment and the moment sometimes feels like forever.

I've felt high since leaving the beach. I'm hoping it translates into a good trading session as well. I'll get more into the "stoked" thing later... I need to get to work. But I wanted to share something. Here's a great song to be "stoked" to.
