The Beatles, "Across The Universe"

The surf was bigger here today than it's been in a long time. That meant that I got smoked out there from time to time. However, I also caught a great ride...

Point is, I'm fucking tired. I stayed out there until it was close to dark and I plan on going out again at dawn, so it's bedtime.

No daily post.

I'll say this though... I had 15 winners and 7 losers. My 7 losses only added up to $350. I really made some great trades today, but unfortunately, only with like, 200 and 300 share positions. It was a little frustrating.

Meanwhile, here's a great song about perspective if you're in need of some. HPT got a little smoked today so I'll dedicate it to him. Head over and send him some encouragement and positivity.

Virtual Office, $4784. Dow, +14.47, 13127.85.

Evolution, $4037 on 154,200 shares traded.
Me, $1157 on 21,800 shares traded.
Tapeworm, $336 on 14 contracts traded.
Bubs, flat on 50 shares traded.

OBAT, vacation.
Akalawoo, -$746 on 20 contracts traded.

I had to get out of here right at 4pm, so this is only a partial VO. I'll update it and my daily post when I get back from the surf. The swell is up!

UPDATE: Okay, so while I'm out surfing, Evolution turns in a monster of a day. Probably one of his best ever.

It was a good day for trading stocks today. Things were trending very nicely. However, the volume was light again as we only managed to push through 1,343,202,000 shares on the NYSE. The indexes were mixed (which I always hate) and volatile.

Things should be interesting for the next couple of weeks. We have the big brokers reporting soon and the FED day looming on the 18th. Get our your hardhats and be ready for some interesting trade.

Covered FED Swing Short, Short LAZ

Taking "the Fly's" recommendation, I short some LAZ today at $38.30. It's showing some good downside volume today.

Meanwhile, I've made a quick point in my FED short. I'm going to cover due to the large short interest (almost 60%).

In fact, next time we get a good bounce, I think FED will be a great stock to own for the short squeeze alone.

Funny Security Cam Videos

This poor guy tried to rob a place and just got the shit kicked out of him by his own stupidity.

Sure, it's not the norm here at Dinosaur Trader, but it might make a few of you smile here during lunchtime.

Black Moth Super Rainbow, "Sun Lips"

I haven't heard this song in a few months. I heard it today and I realized I missed it.

All I'll say about trading today is that I really screwed up a bit. I made like, 12 good trades but I never sized into any of them. In short, I'm up, but I could be up much more. Vacation is over and I need to start stepping up again.

Anyway, very catchy tune... you'll find yourself humming it and repeating the chant, "I love to be with you, and the sun will rise. The sun, will rise!"

New Animal Collective Album, "Strawberry Jam" Out Tomorrow

Be the first trader on your desk to own it.

Here's the glowing review from Pitchfork. In my experience, if Pitchfork rates it over 9.0 it's a "safe buy." Don't even worry about entry, just click it in there.

Also, here's an acoustic version of one of the songs off the new album. It can't be easy to cover an Animal Collective song, so this guy deserves from praise.

In fact, dude covers a lot of songs I like over on Youtube. Cheers, Cougarman7!

First Day Of School

As I type this, my daughter is sleeping peacefully in the room adjacent to my office. In 2 1/2 hours, I fully expect her to be in the midst of a "purple faced" freakout as I try to drop her off for her first day of nursery school.

People say she's still "attached" to Judy and it's something people say quite offhand with an, "awww... isn't that cute?" type of tone to their voice. However, in our case, when we say she's "attached" we mean it quite literally.

Most of the time, she is grasping onto Judy's lower leg like she's a spider monkey or something.

Hopefully, she finds my leg less appealing.

Over the weekend we were speaking with a friend who has an older child. We asked her how it was dropping off her daughter for the first time.

"Oh, no problem!" she said with a flip of her hand. "She got there, saw all the kids playing and in about 10 seconds flat forgot I was even there with her. Just keep her away from the screaming kids though," she warned. "There's always one or two of them."

Judy and I nodded with tight smiles on our faces.

So I'll be lucky to get back by the opening bell. But hey, if I miss it and get all screwed up, there's a nice swell here finally, compliments of Gabrielle.

UPDATE: I dropped her off and she was hesitant but fine. However, after I left, apparently she cried for an hour straight. That really sucks...
