Looked like today was a great morning to trade the financial stocks. However, since I use Esignal I wasn't allowed to trade.

Yes, even though I "shut down and restart" like 5 times, my graphs just wouldn't speed up. When the whole "shut down and restart" thing failed to produce faster graphs, the customer service rep's head exploded. He was out of bullets.

So much for "computer science" majors, huh?

Anyway, you know the story. Everyone is waiting on Uncle Ben tomorrow. Volume was thinner than skim milk as we only traded 1.1 billion shares on the NYSE.

Still, the VO made lemonade out of lemons. We had a decent day.

hello this is my first comment but I feel like I owe you something since i have been reading this blog for a while. You should try picking a different layout if you have problems with slow charts. For some reason the layout has an effect on the speed of the charts.

kurt,

Thank you, that's a good start. Now, you must send me money, lots of it.

Actually, in all seriousness, do you mean that I should change my layout completely or I should just re-do all of my graphs and resave them under a new layout name but I can keep the current form of my layout?

Thanks for the help, it was driving me nuts today.

DT try trading for a day without charts, I still got money on you being in the green.

Bubs,

You may have too much faith in me...

In the past, pre-hybrid it was defintely possible and often smart to trade on quotes alone. Ah... those halcyon days...

DT,
You can try both. But you will probably have to change your layout altogether, especially if you have mutiple charts with different time frames and studies as well as the time and sales. I noticed that the layouts that work the quickest are the ones that come preset with the esignal package.
