STARI or Lyme
We've had a long day here as our daughter received a diagnosis of Lyme disease. The problem is, I know for a fact that she wasn't bitten by a deer tick, but by a Lone Star Tick. Lone Star Ticks don't carry Lyme disease.
I tell you, since becoming a parent I have really begun to strongly question the competency of most medical professionals I've come across. To say that they are diagnosing to prevent litigation most of the time wouldn't be going too far...
Anyway, this has led to a very slow trading day for me. I missed some amazing trades in the morning... I mean, just missed. Perhaps I will be able to detail this in a daily post later tonight, but I rather doubt it, as I have plans immediately after the close.
Die, LEH die!!!

any chance the deer tick fell off before you found it???
i'm sorry to hear that
DT - I have taken a blood test to determined Lyme crap - so your daughter had the test done too? and I thought the test was about 90% accurate?
That sucks. Hopefully it is STARI, not Lyme disease. At the very least, it's good you noticed something was up and got her medical attention.
ouch, at least you caught it early?
good luck to you and your family.
Lisa,
No chance. I pulled the tick off myself, immediately bagged it, and sent it off for testing.
Denarii,
They treat first and give the blood test later... it takes too long to get the results back, they told me.
Thanks everyone. See you in a few days.

Good luck DT.
I hope everything turns out fine.
