Ignorance Is Bliss, Afterall...

A new study finds that "right wingers" are happier than "left wingers."

Why? Because they tend to rationalize away inequalities. In other words, they lie to themselves more...

you are funny DT - you should start on blog on Politics and keep if off of this one.

Don't forget you are part of the super rich and if you feel guilty for your success and are worried about inequalities you can send me a large check. You made a lot more in the market trading then I did so it is only fair that you give me money to resolve this inequality. You will sleep better.

Denarii,

2 things...

1. No guilt at all, I work for my money.

Do I feel guilty about the 90,000 dead Iraqis that "right wingers" tend not to care about because they're not lucky enough to be Americans? Yes.

2. Did you read the article even? I just used their words... don't shoot the messenger.

Pete,

So, considering that Saddam was in power for much longer than we've occupied the country, I'd say were at similar run rates...

My point, in bringing up the Iraqi civilian deaths, is that in my book, a human is a human, despite what flag they're born under. FOX News, for example, tends to overlook that fact...

We are happier because we understand that life is hard and equal outcomes for everyone are impossible and unrealistic, that is why we focus on what the founders of our country focused on, equal opportunity.

Also, a focus on equal outcomes assumes everyone wants the same things out of life. Goals and desires are as unique as people, thus inequalities will be the result. And let's not forget that not everyone puts forth the same effort or applies the same positive attitude to problems and opportunities encountered throughout life, again resulting in unequal outcomes.

We conservatives rationalize inequalities because we understand they are a natural part of life. You libs get all hot and bothered about inequalities because you don't have the emotional maturity to understand and accept life for what it is...a hard, uncertain path with no guarantees, but unlimited opportunities.

If you find a better system, let me know.

DT- it does not matter if you fell guilty about your earnings or not. It does not matter you work your ass off and I know you do. You make much much more than a lot of the people in the USA so the Lib point of view is you need to give more of your hard earned money to people who do not have the ability to earn that much or who do not want to work that hard. That is all.
