Meals In Front Of The Tree

4 year olds are interesting creatures. My daughter has become obsessed with our Christmas tree and now takes all her meals at a little table (previously used for crafts) she set up about 4 feet away from it.

The first thing she does upon waking up is to run downstairs and turn on the lights.

But in a sure sign that she doesn't yet fully grasp Christmas cheer and the meaning of the holiday, last night she remarked that, "when people die, we can steal their houses."

The trader inside of me smiled, but the father was somewhat alarmed.

Not to worry. It'll be one less place you have to pay for her to live. Trust me, you'll be glad to have those extra houses.

And from a father's viewpoint: You can be proud that she already knows how to take care of herself. ;)

Trader in you can say, "Pumpkin, we can steal their houses for pennies before they die. How's that for your Christmas treat?"

Nice father in you have to say, "Honey, we have sympathy for people. We never steal anything from anyone unless ..... You have to be old enough to understand the rest."

In light of the lessons you are teaching your daughter, you might want to buy her this for Christmas.

Having the right tool for the job is key to success.

If you have a gun, you don't have to worry about picking locks.

Come on. That's like saying, "if you run a stock picking advisory service, you don't need to know how to trade."

Where's the fun in that?

AT,

I'll pass along your request to Santa, cross your fingers and be good.

Nah, I'm just saying with her gun, she'll blast open the doors.
