You can't expect the FED to save the market all the time, can you? I mean, if I recall, they didn't even want to cut 50bp in September. Then someone hinted that no more cuts were coming at all and the market sold off hard for a good part of November.
I think they're really worried about inflation. Recessions come and go... inflation could be more of a long term problem.
I think cutting by 25bp was a good move. Let the market do some of the lifting too.
I didn't do much the first part of the day. And once the news hit Esignal promptly slowed down making it nearly impossible to trade such a fast moving market... so I didn't do much the second half of the day either...what a nightmare.
A crazy day in the VO... big gains and some big losses. We traded just over 1.4 billion shares which counts as "decent volume" nowadays on the NYSE...sigh....
Anyway, let's hope this makes trading interesting again. It's great to have the FED out of the way. Frontwards!
NOTE: My daily post will be late.
UPDATE: Apologies, but no daily post. I fell asleep putting my daughter to sleep and I just can't go in and turn the computers on again.

MissTrade, your P/L (or profit, cause rarely ever lose) is really starting to piss me off.....
Well, you guys stick to that scalp style. I will continue with slow and steady swing style. Don't be bitter just trade em.
Nice day Misstrade. I need to start swinging.
Thanks, its the only way, I have ever made money trading. That scalping stuff busts my head too hard, as I don't take profits quickly enough and I let losers run too long if I am in scalping mode. That's why I size down and swing wider. Its just what works for me. Everyone has to find their comfort level. I also manage fewer positions when I do this and therefore have to force myself to be more patient and wait for my setups.
I daytrade futures, but that's because of the leverage affords smaller moves with bigger gains.
Stocks I swing trade primarily.
I never liked Esignal, although I did use and liked Quotreck throughout the '90s. It was B&W and worked off FM radio signals back then. I used the desktop Esignal for about three years and dumped it about five years ago. Too expensive and not reliable.
The market feels alot differant to me the last couple of months for some reason. Cant figure it out yet what really has changed. I trade NYSE stocks and i think the specialists have almost zero input lately. Misstrade, what system do you use to trade futures? Iam really thinking about starting to day trade them. Thanks.
Well, I use TradeStation and Dorman for futures trading. Both are sufficient for my purposes. I believe markets are always changing and evolving, and that is the both the fun part and difficulty of this business, when you find something that works stick with it and continuously work to improve and add to your stable of methods.
