Virtual Office, $7568. Dow, +117.54, 13660.94.

Me, $1074 on 25,000 shares traded.
Dehtrader, $1027 on 3260 shares traded.
Denarii, $336 on 3800 shares traded.
Akalawoo, $48 on 1 contract traded.

Wincity, $34 on 200 shares traded.
OBAT, -$520 on 18,200 shares traded.

Evolution, -$2486 on 167,000 shares traded.

Okay, so I made it past 11am today. Unfortunately, it was the kind of day that puts a trader to sleep... choppy melt-up. So I didn't pay too much attention. I did chores, etc.

Unfortunately though, I passed my "blow-up cold" to OBAT and Evolution. Oh, and the supercomputer known as Misstrade made gobs of money again... but does anyone even notice anymore?

Meanwhile, is Guy Adami always stoned or does he just not give a fuck? And Maria with that 4:00 "Do you know where your money is?" thing... that's just annoying. "Yes, Maria, I know where my money is. Will you please shut up?"

Anyway, volume was decent today on the NYSE, we traded close to 1.5 billion shares. Better than the totals of a few weeks ago but hardly exciting.

I've been blogging lightly, I know. I'm having some computer issues. I think the guys from MtM threw a hex on my computer or something... My internet is "broken."

I think it's time for a new one... I priced out a Dell today with huge memory and dual-core processing. Perhaps that will help. $1049. Basically, today's profits for a new comp... we'll see.

Anyway, I have a highly researched post about "pizza inflation" going up tomorrow. Be sure to check it out.

Finally, GO ISLES!

I bought a HP recently for $669, including a 20' monitor, 2 GB memory, Intel core 2 duo processor.

Don't pay over $800 for a PC with monitor. You're throwing your money away. Look for a refurbished. I've bought tons of PCs over the years, all refurbished.

I've had good experience with Compaq and Gateway PCs - they're super quiet. I don't like HP, but they seem to have refurbished ones on sale all the time.

Where do you buy these "refurbished" PCs?

Might not be a good idea if your constantly buying new computers.

If you have a friend who can build a computer for you, I suggest that, if not wait for the holiday shopping sales to begin.

Where can we see what stocks Misstrade is trading?

He is killing it, but I can't find the stock info on his blog.

BT,

Can't help you there...

Maybe I'll try and post the comp I'm thinking of buying and let you guys who know more about this stuff critique it.

ecost.com has refurbished computers on sale all the time, mostly HP. A few years ago when I was working in New York, I bought a Compaq from them for about $300.

tigerdirect.com is probably the best place to at least research computers and related stuff. I bought a Gateway from them earlier this year for $500, 2 GB memory, dual monitor support built-in, Intel Core 2 duo.

pcmall.com is worth a check-out. It probably is owned by the same people who run ecost.com. But they might have different stuff and price.

I don't know how you can build a PC with a 20' monitor cheaper than $669.

DT, if you decide you want to splurge on a monitor, I highly recommend the HPW2207. I can't live without it and have made several traders happy with the same recommendation. In my opinion, if you decide to spend a little extra on anything, it should be the monitor. I'd gladly trade my girlfriend for another one. :)

Reese,

I have 4 "old" monitors, circa 2000. I'm sure monitors are much better now but what makes that monitor so special?

The only thing I don't like about my monitors is the head they throw off. Also, I think each uses about 3 amps of power, which is pretty stiff.

Are you having problems with the internets?

Maybe you should be using the Google instead.
