I Need A New Chair

My back is shot, my neck is shot and my posture as I sit at the computer all day is awful.

Have any of you ever used this chair?

Hi DT,

Try Aeron chairs

zotium,

Yeah, they're really good with back support? I thought they mainly looked cool.

I believe I asked about chairs last time I had back issues and the Aeron was mentioned.

They're damn expensive.

Still on this old piece of crap chair... still making the same mistakes over and over.

I bought a great chair at office depot. Adjusts every which way, tilt, etc. Not just up and down.

$135.

Can;t beat it. If you dont like it give it to goodwill.

Interesting... my current chair just goes up and down. No real back support unless I lean back. And since I'm hunched over all day looking at the quotes, it's basically useless... I might as well use a stool.

DT,

I hate to sound like a broken record, but have you started your yoga yet? I'm sure your wife can show you poses that can alleviate the pain and strengthen your back.

Here is another article with suggested poses for your back.

I have a cheapy chair and I'm in front of the computer quite a bit, but I've never experienced back pains. Occasionally my wrist becomes sore, but a few down dogs and padahastasanas will take care of it. I practice yoga about 3-4 times a week and it has done wonders for me. Now if I can only get into the zone while I'm trading...

artha,

As you can tell, I'm a slow learner. Eventually I'll get things right and wonder why it took me so long to get there.

It's very frustrating...

I'll check the yoga link. Thanks.

artha is right. During the past few months I have been inflicted with bouts of sharp back pain which comes and goes. When I sneeze it feels like someone sticking a needle on my nerve. I think it is a result from lack of exercise and an expanding gut. I have been working out, doing a little yoga and stretching for the past 2 weeks. My back feels much better.

hey DT,

yup, the Aeron has an adustable device for back support, called PostureFit, the chair's also cool even if you sit for hours because of the mesh. It's also adjustable in many different ways so I love it!
