Mushy Monday

It's hot and humid. Bugs are buzzing outside in the trees. It's hard to trade on days like this.

When I worked in an office in the city, I didn't mind trading in the summer. I wanted to be inside because there was air conditioning and there's nothing worse than being in the city when it's hot and humid.

But now that I live a stones throw from the beach, I have a hard time focusing, I'll admit it. That and the fact that I played babysitter for a good chunk of the trading day means I'm not feeling too analytical right now. Mrs. Dinosaur taught a yoga class to toddlers today because, well, someone in this family has to earn some money!

Anyway, I had a good day trading, even if I was only halfway here.

Most of my money was made in the above stock, BTJ. While it's crazy to trade any stock that trades on the highly unstable American Stock Exchange, there has just been too much volatility in BTJ for me to pass it up.

I got short in the morning after the second bar at 57.39 because the oil indexes were dropping and the stock had retraced a good amount of it's recent loss on mediocre volume. The stock dropped 5 straight points. Every once in a while, it's better to be lucky than good. I didn't catch the full drop with all of my shares though. I covered most around 56.5 and then the rest in the 53.50 area.

Anyway, sorry for the tired post, but we're headed back to the beach.

Here's the stats:

P&L, $830
Best, BTJ, $782
Worst, ITU, -$314

shares traded, 12,600
7 stocks traded. 5 winners, 2 losers
total trades, 75
