Virtual Office, -$3226. Dow -13.65, 13542.88.

EvolutionTrader, $584 on 88,300 shares traded.
Me, $355 on 12,200 shares traded.
One Bad-Ass Trader, $88 on 13,400 shares traded.
Denarii, $19 on 1000 shares traded.
Dehtrader, -$54 on 19,500 shares traded.
Misstrade, -$4218 on 6400 shares traded.

Well, what can you say? It was a slow day. Not much going on. ET did his best to trade the heck out of the market to give it a boost, but despite his best efforts, the market was quiet and tired.

Misstrade ends a long string of really remarkable gains with a bit of a downer today. If it's any consolation MT, I think CROX are ugly as hell too.

Unfortunately, there really is a lack of economic data out this week and we're up against the Memorial Day holiday weekend. It could be a tumbleweed-blowing type of week. Perhaps this will give me some time to work on a new history post. We'll see.

There was money to be made in NYX and ICE today.

Anon,

True they moved.

I've never made much trading the exchange stocks but if they keep on moving in an orderly way I'm sure they'll be on my screen again soon.

I appreciate you throwing the idea out there,

Dinosaur,
That was me above. Keep an eye on NYX as Euronext full financials will be reported 5/22; "analyst day" is 6/6; and NYX-Euronext joint earnings call (the first ever) will be 6/23. It's been on a lull since 4/4 (historic day of NYSE-Euronext merger) and was recently scraping bottom at the $80 mark. There should be a number of positive catalysts soon, including upgrades, which should drive this stock higher. Additionally, there is a hefty short interest (20%) which is being squeezed (down to 18% today). As this happens, fuel will add to the fire. It's one to keep on the radar.

Happy trading!

Bluedog,

Interesting stuff indeed. I had no idea that NYX was so heavily shorted.

I like the idea of playing the short squeeze on a swing basis.

As for going long NYX for longer term, they'll have to fix the hybrid system first!

Thanks again,
