Sorry about the late post. I was busy talking with the folks at my new company.
Okay, well clearly not the best day ever for the VO.
Looks like we had another kind of mixed signal, low volume day on the NYSE. We traded just over 1.3 billion shares, the VIX dropped .68 to 22.49 and many of the indices were choppy and straddling the "unched" line for most of the day.
I spent the morning papertrading and the afternoon downloading software and familiarizing myself with my new layouts and tools. Tomorrow I may even get to throw in a live trade.
I'm very excited about this new beginning and plan on writing a post tonight or tomorrow about the new "schedule" that I'll impose upon myself.
My days of unemployment are numbered.

omg, what's wrong with evolution?
That's a bad day for Evolution, no doubt. However, that's nothing he can't bounce from in one good day.

hey DT, got a Q for you if I may...
Why do you go Prop instead of discretionary? Is it only the funding issue or there is something else?
And if it is really the funding - how come after so many years of trading successfully you didn't manage to get yourself the necessary funds aside?
I hope I'm not being too picky and shoving my nose where I shouldn't...
Regards and best of luck in the new place!
DT: good luck...now its time to get back to making some serious scratch
stockhunter,
I like my savings to be my savings and not "in play." Really, this year showed me how important that strategy is for me mentally, as I had a rough year but had nothing to worry about monetarily.
I use a prop firm for the leverage they give me, but also for the execution systems. The execution systems I've used at prop firms have been top notch.

all the best at the new salt mines!
DT,
Glad to see you're almost good to go.
Good trading to you!
Thanks guys (and gals).
Looking forward to getting back in gear. When I do, I project this blog will become much more helpful to everyone.
